1. i wish the jon brion show were still a thing cuz he is amazing.
2. i really really really really really really miss elliott smith.
this is strangely musical and hypnotizing.
mumford & sons - lover of the light
this is the most beautiful, touching, and uplifting music video i’ve seen in a very, very long time. idris elba (who also directed this gem) is stunning and powerful, as always, telling a perfect and emotionally gripping story in mere minutes. mumford & sons has been one of my favorite bands ever since white blank page first popped up while listening to last.fm and from what i hear of their second album, Babel, they will not disappoint me anytime soon.
also, idris elba is a fucking fox.
i cannot stop listening to this mashup. literally, it’s on repeat and my coworkers are sharpening their shanks. ”kanye swift” is my new favorite genre of music.
the vitamin quartet - never tear us apart (inxs cover)
i have not been able to stop listening to this for 2 days now. there is something so beautiful yet haunting about this cover and i wish i could just play it on an endless loop. and while i love the original ballad version with michael hutchence singing, i find this lyric-less version much more appealing. it lets me write my own story to this essentially simple and elegant song. when i close my eyes, i see lightning bugs blinking in the fog, a lonely beach at night, slow-motion dancing; i feel mystery and romance, longing, longing, longing. this song is mona lisa’s smile. it’s secretive, alluring, and just a little sad.
this theme song was just begging to be sampled and i must say, i’m very happy with the outcome. this is my new “rocking out alone in the office” jam.
